Purpose

Dayonn Harris is a proud Canadian and professional soccer player currently competing in the USL Championship for New Mexico United. A former NCAA Division 1 Student-Athlete at Penn State University and the University of Connecticut (UCONN), Dayonn understands firsthand the challenges and sacrifices required to succeed in both the classroom and on the field.

Although Dayonn plays professionally in the United States, his heart remains in Canada, where his journey began. Giving back to the next generation of student-athletes is more than just a passion—it’s a responsibility. “If I can help even one person get to the next level,” he says, “then I’ve contributed to something greater than myself.”

Through this scholarship, Dayonn hopes to inspire and support high school student-athletes who are preparing to take the next big step—whether into post-secondary education or into their future careers.

Scholarship Requirements:

Eligibility Criteria:
✅ Must be enrolled in Grade 12 at a Public or Catholic High School,
OR Grades 9–12 at a Canadian Prep School.
✅ Must provide proof of acceptance or enrollment into a post-secondary institution.
✅ Must submit a 500-word essay answering: “How would this financial assistance personally help you with your post-secondary education journey?”

✅ Must include two (2) letters of recommendation from a coach, teacher, mentor, or employer.
✅ Must submit proof of a minimum 20 hours of completed community service.
✅ Must currently be participating in an organized, school, club, or sanctioned sport.
